Owain has a long and proven history in the trucking and primary industries, which began on a Bedford TK on a sheep farm then onto truck and trailers whilst working at a large meat processor in West Wales. Whilst at University to help finance his accounting degree Owain gained a huge array of experience in most facets of trucking – steel, livestock, aircraft etc. in the UK and Europe. After Uni Owain worked for steel and transport companies in management positions, with some driving. Originally from Wales, Owain came to New Zealand in 2004 and has been working for the Dynes family for 10 years. Prior to Dynes he worked for a sizeable rural transport and contracting company in Geraldine, mid Canterbury.
Owain strongly believes in the development of a stable and positive work place culture supported by continuous improvement, especially Health & Safety processes. One of his top priorities is the investment in both staff and equipment to ensure that customer expectations are not just met but exceeded, and to maintain Dynes Loggings’ position as a 5 star operator and being the log transport of choice for the Otago/Southland region.
Owain is married with a truck mad boy and when not at work he enjoys mountain biking, farming, golfing and spending time with his family.
